Mark vii rope breaking

The overhead rope that goes to the weight on the passenger side of the unit keeps breaking. Any advice for a remedy would be very grateful!

Do you have a Softwash gantry?
If so, I assume you are referring to the roof bbrush kevlar belt that holds the counter weight.
Check guidance rollers bearings, clean the counter weight and lubricate with wd40 only the weight (not over the belt), clean and lubricate both deflection shaft bearings.
If the roof brush bounces too much over cars could cause also the belt to come out of place.
